Happy Easter

Thanks to everyone for your comments. It helps so much to see what other people have done with their kids. I just want to make things as easy on us and her as possible. I will take ANY suggestions, ANY time, from ANY one!

We were not going to go to Easter dinner because Mia is only 3 weeks old, but Jaden had an uncle in town who probably won't get another chance to see her for at least 6 months. So, we went. I cried on the way there. I was so nervous. We got there and there were a TON of people! I was watching all of these kids run around with runny noses. At one point, Jaden's cousin said I wasn't being myself and I ran out of the living room crying! We all laughed about it later. I always thought I would be a really easy going mom. I hope I will get better! I feel like a mother bear who could rip anyone apart that comes near my baby! Overall though, we had a really good Easter. How amazing that God gave his son and let him go through the cross for US! I can't imagine. Thank you Lord.

Another Dr's appointment and lots of questions

Mia had her 2nd Dr's appointment yesterday. She has grown an inch and weighs 9 lbs now! She is doing so great. The Dr ask me how we were sleeping, my response was-"umm, ok". As of now, Mia sleeps in her swing next to our bed. She is not a big crier (more of a grunter) so when she starts to wake up and grunt, I feed her. Sometime in the middle of the night, she usually ends up in bed cuddling with me the rest of the night. The Dr told me to wait to feed her until she really starts to cry. She said to feed her, burp her and put her back down. No talking, cuddling, or playing. She said this will help her start to sleep through the night. I hate it. I cried more than she did last night. I am afraid I am going to teach her that she needs to cry to get things. She is such a good baby and I don't want to change that.

Any advise from any moms would be greatly appriciated.
Did you let your baby cry before you fed them?
Did they sleep in your room or in your bed? If so, for how long?
When did they get on a regular nighttime schedule?
Did you swaddle them at night?
Please Help!

Doctors appointment

Mia had her first Dr's appointment yesterday. It was just to weigh her and make sure she is gaining. They want babies to be up to their birth weight by 2 weeks. Well, Mia is a champ. She has already passed her birth weight. She weighs 8lbs and 10oz (almost a pound over her birth weight)! She is Mommy and Daddy's good little eater. She is already very social. She is awake alot more now and really likes being talked to. Wow, we just love her so much! Here are some more pics. Mia is ready for the Easter bunny!

On a side note: I realize my last post had some grammatical errors. Sorry if it was hard to understand. I am sleep deprived.

My gift

This week has been great. Mia is doing perfectly. We both feel really good. Jaden has been super dad and husband. He keeps the house clean, takes care of me and Mia and is just generally wonderful. I have been a little emotional these last few days. I think it is a combo of hormones and pure joy. I have been thinking about a Rascal Flatts song "Here". It talks about how he would not take anything back that has happened to him in his life because it has all brought him to this moment. That is how I feel. I feel like everything in my life has led up to this. And because of everything, I can fully appreciate what I have. To have a family who loves you and who you love is such a blessing. To understand what a how just how blessed you are is a gift. Thank you god for the gift of my beautiful family and my beautiful life.

Here are a few more pics. We take a picture everyday of her outfit that day (and about 30 more throughout the day!)

MIA!

Mia Brynne Boren was born 3-21-09 at 1:15am. She was waiting to for aunt Jennie. She weighed 7lbs 15oz, 19 1/2 inches long. She is so perfect. Labor went great. My epidural worked great and she came out after 3 pushes! We love her so much. I'm not going to type much because I want to go stare at her. Thanks for the prayers.

UGH...

Well, it is March 18th and I am 40weeks and one day pregnant. Don't get me wrong, I have loved being pregnant (after i quit being sick). But we are just so excited to meet Mia. We have scheduled my induction for Monday(23rd). That seems like forever away! My doctor told us yesterday that she doesn't think that there is any way I will make it until this Friday. I hope not. We would really rather not be induced if we can help it, and aunt Jennie is coming to town this weekend and I really want Mia to meet her! So..."operation Mia evacuation" continues. I guess Mia, like her mommy, likes to be fashionably late!

Still here

I know I have been horrible about posting lately. We have been very busy getting everything ready for Miss Mia. We had 2 great showers and got some wonderful things. I thinks we are finally ready (as ready as we will ever be). Now we wait. We found out 2 weeks ago that I was dilated to a 2. Last week we found out that I was a 3 and 60% effaced. That is when "operation Mia evacuation" began. We are so anxious to meet her! We started walking almost every day. I have been taking long hot baths every day and eating lots of spicy food. I will spare you all of the other stuff that we have done to try to send me into labor, but let me assure you-we have pretty much tried EVERYTHING. She must be pretty cozy in there because she does not seem to want to come out. My actual due date is Tues (17th). I have a Dr's appointment that day and if I am still pregnant, we will pick a day to induce. I have been having contractions every 15 min for the last 2 days so hopefully it wont come to that. Please pray that all goes well and that Mia is happy and healthy. I will keep you posted.
